How We Research and Compare Products
This page explains how Meat Grinder Guide puts its buying guides and comparisons together, what they are based on, and what they are not.
What our comparisons are based on
We compare products using published information:
- Manufacturer specifications and documentation: spec sheets, owner's manuals, installation guides and support pages.
- Standards and certifications: the safety or performance standards a product category is held to, and the certification or listing a manufacturer publishes for a model, where they exist.
- Retailer listings: model availability, published prices and the specifications retailers list.
- Other public sources: government and industry guidance and other published references relevant to the buying decision.
What we do not do
We do not test products hands-on, we do not operate a lab, and we do not take our own measurements. Articles are published under the Meat Grinder Guide name rather than by named reviewers, and we do not claim professional credentials. When an article describes how a product performs, that description should come from the manufacturer's published specifications or another public source, not from our own use. If you find wording on this site that suggests otherwise, please tell us so we can correct it.
How picks are chosen
Each guide starts from the buying decision it covers: the job, the space, the budget and what the product has to be compatible with. Products are then compared on the published specifications that matter for that decision, along with documented features, warranty terms and availability. Labels such as "best overall" or "best value" summarize how a product's published specifications fit the use case described in that section. They are not test scores.
Affiliate commissions do not decide which products are included or how they are ranked, and companies cannot pay for placement.
Prices and specifications
Prices and specifications reflect the retailer listings and manufacturer documentation available when an article was written or last updated. The date at the top of each article shows when it was last updated. Prices, model numbers and specifications change, and some links open a retailer's search results rather than a single product listing. Before you buy, confirm the exact model, its specifications and the current price on the retailer's or manufacturer's page.
Safety and installation
Our guides are for general information. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific equipment, applicable codes and regulations, and use a qualified professional where the work calls for one.
Corrections
If you spot an error, such as a wrong specification, an outdated price, a broken link or a claim that no public source supports, email [email protected] with the page address and, if you can, the source that shows the correct information.
How we make money
Some links on Meat Grinder Guide are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Our affiliate disclosure explains these relationships in full.
